More to Come with Gettysburg Flag Works
Gettysburg Flag Works is about much more than making quality American flags. We’re also an active part of the community through our participation in the Stars for Our Troops program and by educating the public about American holidays, historical events, flag etiquette and care and lots of other relevant topics.
Gettysburg Flag Works is a company built on the expertise of its founder, staff and community members. That’s why this space is being revitalized to be go-to reading for you — our friends — to gain knowledge from their experience. James Breig, renowned historian and author of Star-Spangled Baseball: True Tales of Flags and Fields; Searching for Sgt. Bailey, Saluting an Ordinary Soldier of World War II and other titles is a regular contributor. Our own Cheryl Rings, marketing and website manager, will be authoring posts about flag etiquette and care. As well, other executives will be contributing insight about our company, history and the significance of American flags in today’s society.
While most American adults know the significance of the stars and stripes, we might not know how to fold an American flag, or the rules for when flags outside our businesses should be flown at half-staff. We’ll cover these topics and more in the upcoming months.
But, this isn’t all about etiquette and rules… we’re going to have fun, too! How would you like to plan a patriotic party? As the summer months approach, July 4th is right around the corner and you could be getting ready for a bash to remember. Make your patriotic theme be about more than just red, white and blue; we’ll share some extra touches that will make your celebration one that your guests will remember for years to come. We might even share some trivia… impress your guests with your knowledge of this country’s history!
Visit us here often to read announcements about events happening in our community. Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day and Veterans’ Day are great opportunities to celebrate patriotism and Americana, but exciting events happen year-round to support our troops. For those veterans who were not able to finish their educational path, then these online colleges for military veterans is a great place to continue.
Gettysburg Flag Works is unique because there are not a lot of businesses that are crafting fine flags right here on U.S. soil, employing a local workforce and contributing to the local economy. What sets us apart is that our “business” is only one part of what we do; the rest is about giving back to the community and to our country. We wouldn’t have it any other way. In the coming months, this blog will be our space to share details about us and why we’re so passionate about what we do. Please, join our conversation.
