I really hope you folks are as good as you have been, at responding to me, in the past!
I am a hobby Vexillologist and I’ve been chasing this flag for a long time, I am trying to find a good version of it. Will you please answer a few questions for me?
1 what is the flag weight in ounces,
2. What is the flag materiel ie. nylon 500D or what,
3. What is the size of the header and grommets, are the grommets really brass,
4. Is the flag made in the USA, by Gettysburg Flag Works, and so indicated on flag, and do you folks have an embroidered version,
5. Lastly. Is this flag verified to actually represent the “1863, 1st Cavalry Division” flag? I am pretty sure the answer is a resounding “no”! As I understand. During this period (1855-1865)the Union organization of the Army (following the European format) was divided into geographical departments, consisting of geographical divisions (not numbered), most numbered units were some corps and most tactical regiments. Like the 2 & 5 cavalry regs. (Bull Run through Gettysburg & Appomattox), circa 1855. Regiments which the much later (1922) formed units of the 1st Cavalry Division! Hence, this 1st Cavalry Division flag, not real, in this format! But that is OK, I am convinced this is a real flag just want to figure out real of what?
I appreciate your trouble and time in answering this. Looking forward to you reply,
