The blue rounded figure at the bottom of the logo represents earth. This crazy space rock has been through a lot in the billions of years it has existed and it isn’t over yet. Space travel and becoming a multiplanetary species is a dream that many humans have been working towards. Artemis is just another step in that direction.
The red curving pathway runs through the triangular Artemis rocket ship that is pointed up and away from earth. The first lunar mission took a 1.3 million mile trip around the moon and back to earth and it took 25 days to complete! That red pathway represents a long journey!
And finally, the small gray circle poking out from behind the rocket represents the moon, which is what this whole journey is about. So far, Artemis 1 has been completed and successfully orbited the moon in an unmanned mission. This has set the stage for the future in which NASA has its eyes set on another moon landing just like it did in the 1960’s
