Revolutionary War era flag of the 7th Pennsylvania Regiment named after the Battle of Brandywine in September of 1777 where it was used and gained notoriety. Although made for and used by a state militia, the flag is a historical example of early use of an "American" flag featuring stars and stripes in its design. A historical version of the flag itself is preserved at Independence National Park in Philadelphia PA.
