Lady Victory is historically inspired by the Goddess Nike, a winged female personification of Victory in competition, particularly military battle, but used in all forms of endeavors. Later in the 15th and 16th Centuries during the Crusades Lady Victory became associated with the Virgin Mother Mary, or Rosary Mary, who was believed to have helped the Christians obtain victory in Europe. Our version hopes to inspire and remind both our citizenry and outsiders that America shall always and forever prevail.
