The red and white flag of Greenland was designed by Thue Christiansen and was adopted in 1985. It consists of 2 horizontal stripes in the background and a circle centered which is also cut into 2 horizontal stripes. The flag is unique in that it is the only Nordic country (or territory) flag that doesn't include a Nordic Cross in the design.
