- 3x5’ - The most popular flag size, perfect for house-mounted poles or in-ground poles up to 20' tall.
- 4x6’ - Typically used on 25' tall in-ground flagpoles.
- 5x8’ – Designed for use on 30' tall in-ground flagpoles.
- 6x10’ – Best suited for in-ground flagpoles ranging from 35' to 40' tall.
- 8x12’ – The right size for flagpoles between 40' and 50' tall.

- Header and Grommet style – The most common attachment method for flags, typically used on house-mounted and in-ground poles. Generally made from brass, it connects via snap clips or plastic grommet rings, like those on our rotating spinning pole.
- ”D” Ring style - Found on some 8x12' and larger flags, these durable metal rings attach to larger snap clips to support the heavier weight of the flag's fabric.
- Rope and Thimble - Used on some 8x12' and larger flags, these metal thimbles attach to larger snap clips. A rope is sewn into the header to provide added strength along the flagpole side when flown.

About the New York State Flag Design
The New York State Flag features a vibrant and symbolic design that was recently updated in the early 2020’s. Centered on a dark blue field is the state's coat of arms, which includes a shield adorned with a sun rising over the Hudson River, flanked by two ships symbolizing commerce. Above the shield, a bald eagle spreads its wings atop a globe. Supporting the shield are two figures: Liberty, holding a staff topped with a Liberty cap and trampling a crown, symbolizing freedom from tyranny. There is also Justice, holding a sword and scales, representing fairness and law. Below, the banner now reads “Excelsior E Pluribus Unum”. It’s a complicated and elegant design that we love supplying here at Gettysburg Flag Works!

Flag lifespans depend on location and how often you fly your flag. We generally say our flags last anywhere from 6-18 months, although we do see customers keep their flags for many years.
