”D” Ring style - Found on some 8x12' and larger flags, these durable metal rings attach to larger snap clips to support the heavier weight of the flag's fabric.
Rope and Thimble - Used on some 8x12' and larger flags, these metal thimbles attach to larger snap clips. A rope is sewn into the header to provide added strength along the flagpole side when flown.

The New York State Flag features a vibrant and symbolic design that was recently updated in the early 2020’s. Centered on a dark blue field is the state's coat of arms, which includes a shield adorned with a sun rising over the Hudson River, flanked by two ships symbolizing commerce. Above the shield, a bald eagle spreads its wings atop a globe. Supporting the shield are two figures: Liberty, holding a staff topped with a Liberty cap and trampling a crown, symbolizing freedom from tyranny. There is also Justice, holding a sword and scales, representing fairness and law. Below, the banner now reads “Excelsior E Pluribus Unum”.
