Steadfast® Flag Size and Mounting Recommendations
- 3x5’ – The most popular flag size, typically used on 6' house-mounted poles or in-ground poles up to 20' tall.
- 4x6’ – Commonly displayed on in-ground flagpoles that are 25' tall.
- 5x8’ – Designed for use on in-ground flagpoles that stand 30' tall.
- 6x10’ – Best suited for flagpoles ranging from 35' to 40' tall.
- 8x12’ – Ideal for flagpoles between 40' and 50' tall.
- 10x15’ – Properly sized for flagpoles between 50' and 60' tall.
- 12x18’ – Best suited for flagpoles ranging from 60' to 75' tall.
- Header and grommet style – The most popular attachment method, suitable for both house-mounted and in-ground flagpoles. Typically made of brass and connected using snap clips or plastic grommet rings, such as those on our rotating spinning pole.

I purchased the Battle-Tough flag earlier this year, it withstood winds of up to 3-50 mph and extreme sun/heat of up to 120 degrees plus for approximately 6 months , maybe a bit less. Question now, will the Steadfast be a good “winter” flag for me? Definitely not near the heat but winter for us is super windy, again gusts up to 50 mph and more at times. I do bring my flag in when I know it’s going to be super windy. Or should I stay with the Battle-Tough flag?
Hello! Thanks for reaching out. Yes, we would recommend the Steadfast for heavier wind and winter type conditions. The heavy duty polyester material will hold up longer than the lighter weight nylon in that scenario.

I need to replace my Battle-Tough flag I bought from you 2 years ago [Great flag]. Would the Steadfast winter flag be a better option since it's made out of polyester & will it hold up longer?
2 years is a wonderful lifespan for an American flag! We expect our flags to last anywhere from 6 to 18 months depending on location factors such as wind, UV radiation and rainfall! If you are getting beyond 18 months easily, sticking with the Nylon flag is probably best! The Steadfast is best for high wind areas with lighter amounts of sun exposure, as it typically fades faster.

I have trouble with my flags fading really bad, blue field especially. I fly them 24-7. Always American made. My last one only lasted 3 months. What do I need to order?
If you are in a location with a lot of hot sun and are flying 24/7 - unfortunately flags will fade as all materials do.
We would recommend trying our Nylon Battle-Tough American Flag - very vibrant colors so you will start out ahead of the game!

What is grommet and headers?
The header is the canvas "end" of the flag and the grommets are the brass holes that are used to attach the flag to the flagpole.

- Long life and Amazing qualityI originally purchased a 3x5 Steadfast flag in 2022. It has withstood 2 years of daily Kansas wind, 2 tornado seasons, and numerous hailstorms (including 1 storm with golf ball size hail). It is a bit faded and just starting to fray at the ends. I'll never purchase a flag from anyone else!

- Beyond ImpressedMy first flag lasted 3 years and is still going strong although it is faded from the last 3 years of constant flying. I live in a mountain valley in southern New Hampshire so your product got a beating. I am beyond impressed with how well it lasted. - SteadfastI purchased a Steadfast American Flag several years ago. I need to replace only because she has faded. The stitching and threadwork are amazing. I only wish she had remained colorfast, but in South Carolina near the shore, wind and sun take their toll on everything. Getting ready to purchase another one.

- Best EverI’ve been buying flags for over 25 years and this is the best ever. I usually buy a 3 pack from box stores and if I’m lucky the 3 flags might last 1 year. I bought a STEADFAST and a BATTLE TOUGH to see which one was best. It’s been 2 years now flying the STEADFAST in Oklahoma winds and heat with no shredding. I think it will fade out before it shreds. All stitching is still in good shape. By this time with other flags I would have gone thru 6 flags. Gettysburg had a sale awhile back so I bought 2 more STEADFAST flags just for extras. Still haven’t used the Battle Tough so don’t know which one is best but I’m betting on the STEADFAST. Still going strong after 2 years. I’ll try the BATTLE TOUGH next when this one fades out. GREAT flag Gettysburg.

- Love This Flag!I purchased this 3x5 Steadfast flag to replace a 2-yr old similar Battle-Tough version, which had torn a bit (getting caught on gutter) and the blue field faded quite a bit... which was to be expected living at 5,830' in Colorado.
The original 2-pc swivel pole finally broke, too... So it's now replaced with a 6' 1-pc swivel pole.
These flags are well-made, durable, and look AWESOME.
