About the US Yacht Ensign Design

The US Yacht Ensign Flag is a variation of the national flag, designed specifically for maritime use. It features thirteen stripes and a blue canton, but instead of fifty stars, the canton hosts a fouled anchor surrounded by thirteen stars in a circular formation. This design symbolizes maritime tradition and the naval history of the United States.

US Yacht Ensign Flag Size Recommendations

• 12x18” - Used on boats, wall decoration or on stick flags for celebrations
• 16x24” - A larger boat flag size that you can use for a slightly larger boat size. Check out our boat flag to boat size chart for more info!
• 20x30” - A touch under our 2x3' option, this flag will pack a punch and will be highly visible out on the water!
• 2x3’ - A smaller flag size usually used on large boats, RV’s or small flag poles
• 3x5’ - The most common flag size. Used on 6' house-mounted poles or in-ground poles up to 20' tall
• 4x6’ - Traditionally used on 25' tall in-ground flagpoles
• Header and Grommet style - This is the most popular way to attach a flag and is used on house mounted poles and in-ground flag poles. The grommets, generally made of brass and connected via snap clip or plastic grommet rings like our rotating spinning pole.
